Dr. David H. Kim is board-certified in both sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. He specializes in arthroscopy and minimally-invasive surgery of the shoulder and knee. He also evaluates and treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries.

Dr. Kim graduated from Stanford University and then received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Program in Boston. He completed a shoulder fellowship at the Harvard Shoulder Service in Boston.
He is fellowship-trained in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic, where he served as an assistant team physician for professional and
college athletic teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Anaheim Ducks, and USC Athletics.

Dr. Kim has been practicing in Huntington Beach since 2004. He serves as team physician for Edison High School and consults for several local college athletic
programs and professional teams. He is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery (AAOS), and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).

Dr. Kim has been honored as one of Orange County’s Physicians of Excellence for the last several years, as selected by the Orange County Medical Association and published in Orange Coast Magazine’s “Top Doctors” issue.

Dr. Kim has published numerous articles pertaining to sports medicine and orthopedic surgery in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his research at several national and international meetings.

Dr. Kim is affiliated with the Hoag Orthopedic Institute, Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, and Newport Center Surgical.

In his free time, he cherishes spending time with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys the southern California weather, especially while playing basketball, golfing, and mountain biking.
